Our history

In Città della Pieve since 1992

Impresa Edile Mario Scargiali was founded in Città della Pieve in 1992, and it is the third generation of the family to work in this trade.

Over these years we have built, but above all renovated: palazzi in historic centres, fine farmhouses, hotels and restaurants. And we have restored places of worship directly listed by the Soprintendenza, the Italian heritage authority, such as the Cathedral and the Monastery of the Poor Clares in Città della Pieve.

Today there are fifteen of us. We pay close attention to regulations, above all those on safety, and our employees have completed numerous professional qualification courses.

Three generations

Three generations in the craft of building and renovating

For three generations, the Scargiali family has carried on the craft of building and renovating, handing down experience, skills and knowledge of the local area.

Among the many projects that have marked the company’s history, there is one that tells of this continuity more than any other: making safe the bell tower of the Cathedral of Città della Pieve.

The same bell tower has seen all three generations of the Scargiali family at work, in different eras.

The owner

Surveyor Mario Scargiali

As well as running the company, Mario Scargiali personally oversees the work on site.

Over the years he has developed the company’s skills together with those of the people who work there, with professional qualification courses for employees and the projects that led to the SOA qualification for listed buildings.

What we do

Our work

Three kinds of work we have been doing for years, each with the projects that best illustrate it.

  • The bell tower of the Cathedral of Città della Pieve

    Restoration of listed buildings

Churches, monasteries and palazzi protected by the Soprintendenza: consolidation, roofs, façades and floors.

Cathedral Monastery of the Poor Clares

  • The Vigna Nuova farmhouse at sunset

Renovations in historic centres and in the countryside

Palazzi in historic centres and fine farmhouses for private clients, with techniques and materials that meet national and European regulations.

Podere La Vigna Nuova Il Rastrello

  • The farmhouse of Ca' Litardo seen from the pool

    Hospitality properties and new builds

Hotels, agriturismi and restaurants created from historic buildings, and new houses built following the design and the landscape.
