The project

Three generations on the same bell tower

Between 2012 and 2019 we worked on the Cathedral of Santi Gervasio e Protasio several times, for the conservation and safety of the complex. The most important project was making safe and restoring the bell tower, which had been damaged by a lightning strike.

For our family it is a special job: all three generations have worked on that bell tower, Gisleno Scargiali after the war, Aldo in the 1980s and Mario today. Over these years we also relaid the floor of the nave and restored the roofs of the canons’ houses, always respecting the structures and the historic character of the building.

Three generations

Three generations in the craft of building and renovating

For three generations, the Scargiali family has carried on the craft of building and renovating, handing down experience, skills and knowledge of the local area.

Among the many projects that have marked the company’s history, there is one that tells of this continuity more than any other: making safe the bell tower of the Cathedral of Città della Pieve.

The same bell tower has seen all three generations of the Scargiali family at work, in different eras.
